Poor Amanda Elliot who will have (most likely) to face Jamea in the final qualifying round - still it will be interesting to see how many games she can win off a player of Jamea's standard.

Great to see that Jade C has a wc, should be interesting to see how she does against top 200 opposition here, been beating top 600 players regularly recently so she thoroughly deserves it !

For some reason, they seem to have played both qualies rounds today ! (there are surprisingly only 2 given it's such a strong challenger)....I have a few results:

Great effort from Amanda against such a quality player

It's extremely encouraging that she was able to push a top 100 player so close...Amanda's only ranked in low 800s !!!! Jackson was as high as 43 earlier this year !!! She's no mug on grass as last year she made the WTA Birmingham final, beating Jankovic and then Sharapova in straight sets !!!

Broady's win came against someone ranked quite a bit higher too so that was a great result....Mirkovic is ranked 538, and is also 17. It means that Naomi is in the Surbiton main draw which is great for her, will be able to really test herself against top 200 players...don't think she's played anyone in the top 200 yet. On grass with her serve, she won't be easy to beat !

Good to see Emily continuing the good form shown in Mexico..her game is ideal for grass as her strength is at the net and she mixes it up so well....bit disappointing from Karen though, she has a big game and I'm hoping for some good results from her on the grass in June and July...hopefully she might be able to sneak some wins in Birmingham and Eastbourne qualies

What's happening out here????

Main draw has Naomi as a wild card.

That's not possible as there are quite a few players ranked lower who have direct entries.

Am I missing something? If not, it would suggest that Emily Hewson of Australia got a de facto wild card.

I believe that that was done so that Jamea Jackson could get a seeding.

Anyone know about what's happening with the wild cards? That draw is wrong and we should have another Brit in there!

they prob started qualies and had no one to give wildcard too so they left it with naomi and let another foreigner in. we cant be too greedy witht the wildcards
