Brilliant result for Katie - her first win over a top 100 player I think (Pironkova has been a lucky omen this year - Anne beat her in Fed Cup) so hope one of our WCs draws her at Wimbledon! Katie plays Jill Craybas for a place in the main draw. Looking through I see that every pair of games were won by the same player, which is uncanny.

Pironkova is actually ranked 108 (but 91 last week so she must have had some points just come off).

Yes, final qualies are always scheduled for Monday. They usually split the 4 across the courts at midday. With 2 Brits one may be promoted to Centre Court ahead of some main draw matches. The last 2 occasions we had Brits in final qualies (2003 - Amanda and 2004 - Elena) at least one of the 2 played on centre. Amanda was our last qualifier (lost to Amy Frazier I think))
