QR2 round-up and FQR draw

QR2: Sean Thornley WR 1332 lost to (q1) Chris Guccione (AUS) WR 98 by 1 & 2
QR2: (q5) Jamie Baker WR 247 beat (WC) Dan Smethurst UNR by 3 & 4

Gucci served 14 aces and Sean only managed to win 4/36 points against serve, one of them a DF. Jamie will need to be at his best to have a chance against the Australian, but had his serve broken twice by Smethurst, which does not bode well.

QR2: Ian Flanagan WR 795 lost to (q2) Justin Gimelstob (USA) WR 147 by 4 & 3
QR2: Ken Skupski UNR beat (q6) Brendan Evans (USA) WR 252 by 6-4 6-7(4) 7-6(5)

Flan had the first bp against Gimelstob in game 3 of the 1st set, but failed to convert, lost his serve in game 6 after being 40-0 up, broke straight back but then lost it again. However, losing 4 & 3 to someone ranked over 600 places above you is hardly a disgrace! :( Ken broke in the 3rd game of the 1st set and did well to hold serve from then on, then lost a very tight 2nd set on the tiebreak but did brilliantly to win an even tighter final set on another t/b.

QR2: (q7) Jonny Marray WR 262 beat Daniel Evans WR 1494 by 2 & 2

Josh and Jonny both had straightforward wins as expected.

There are no points for reaching the FQR and unfortunately, it still looks like we will only get one through, but who knows. We could probably do with a LL space or two coming free whatever happens!
