QR2: Dominic Hodgson UNR leads (q12) David Bidmeade (AUS) WR 1513 by 1-6 6-4 6-1
Do you mean he won?
It's anybody's guess, hence my "I think the latest score in the last match must be wrong, else why would it be on the OoP saying 'to finish'! " at the end of that post.

Looking at the draw, if Marray beats Klien, I see no reason against it being a Goodall - Marray semi-final. Why Josh is playing a future with all these challengers around is anyones guess though.

Presume as he thinks he'll win the futures event, but also as he is planning on playing Manchester next week as it isn't worth going abroad for one week when he could be getting some easy points in the UK
Singles starts on Wednesday (weather permitting) there are no indoor courts here, so they could really be in the soup.
Already miles behind and with shocking forecasts for the next few days, they have got hard courts and I noticed that some of the qualies were going on on hard courts but they might dry quikcer but are still no good when its actually raining.
Jonny will play winner of Cox and Klein if he beats his qualifier, hope it's Cox, Klein seems to be well thought of though, and won Aussie open juniors anyone know what he's like?
Klein? If he doesn't make the top 100 I'd be shocked, and I think he's a got a great chance at the top 50.
Has a pretty good serve, big forehand, solid backhand, has good touch at the net.... doesn't really have a lot, if any, weaknesses.
Ward did beat him at Surbiton, but had to play flawless tennis to do so (brilliant match it was... shame it was only seen by about 10 spectators, if that).
I'd expect Klein to beat Cox, and to be honest, I'd have him as favourite against Jonny.
He does have a suspect temper though, so if Jonny and Dan can get to him and wind him up, he's liable to explode and it could affect the quality of his tennis
Does he tend to follow the serve in or play from the baseline predominantly?
Sounds like a solid player though looking at his results suggest he has promise but not that he's as good as you make out, noticed he lost third set tb to Bubka last time out, now Bubka's a decent enough player but a player without weaknesses hotfooting it to the top 50 ought to be able to beat him surely?
Do you think it's his temperament or just making steady progress towards the top?

He stayed back on the serve pretty much all the time (possibly because of how well Ward returned that day), but when he did work his way to the net I don't think he missed a volley all day.
Surprised he did lose the Bubka, but maybe he's just taking his time moving up the rankings, and anything could have happened in the TB, or he just had a very bad day at the office.
There's nothing to his game that suggests he can't be top 50, and I think he'll definately make the top 100, but I'm guessing like a lot of juniors consistancy may still be a bit of a problem, or his temperament still gets to him when thinks aren't quite going his way

I can remember an exhibition tourny before the Aussie open where Klein ran Murray pretty close, think he took him to a tie breaker one set, think thats right. I agree Klein looks like a hot prospect he crusied past Skupski two weeks in a row in Kuwait during May/June
Willis (plays Marray in MD), Smethurst (plays Ianuzzi), Brassington (plays Milton), Corrie (plays Coning) and unseeded Ashley Watling (! - plays La Porte) have all qualified, while Thornley gets Bayet.
Just getting the full results ready now ...

While Steven's sorting out the singles pairings, I'll jump in with the doubles:
Bamfs & Goody are the top seeds & play Kyle B & James Smith (WC) in R1; Neil Pauffley & Marcus Willis have had the bad luck to draw the Aussie 4th seeds, Brydan Klein & Matthew Ebden ( ); Fitzy & Baptiste Bayet play Ricey & Thornley, Cox & Milton the 3rd seeds, Mankad & Singh ( ) & last, but not least, the WCs, Bradshaw & Kinsella, take on the second seeds, Chekhov & Koning!
Thanks - the doubles draw makes the singles draw look pretty good! LOL
Unfortunately, tomorrow is the day with the worst forecast of the week and Thursday isn't much better. They did well to get through the backlog today though.
By the way, either the Hodgson-Bidmeade QR2 match - see further up this page - had finished yesterday (in which case, why was it on the OoP?) or the person doing yesterday's OoP was prescient!
