There are untold stories of baltic players cycling for days to get to the nearest court to practice for months by hitting dead rats with a saucepan while wearing shoes made of barbed wire etc etc - if the local club being a few miles away is enough to scupper your tennis career then it's likely that it's a bit of a non-starter.

I don't think there have been many Wimbledon champions who were only knocking about with mates at 14 but, hey, there's a first time for everything.

The only thing you can do now is to judge yourself against other players. This will be 10.2s or whatever to start off with but, if you are good, your rating can move very quickly. You need to register with the LTA - it's a relatively simple process - and get yourself into a tourament. Once that is done the rest should become obvious....

nice tactical idea lol......it's not a unique one but the problem I usually thump the approach into the corners or move back so its hard to get me into the net

why is there a huge space under the banner and before the sart of the blog?

I've just had a quick look, and it appears that part of the html code in the page is inserting a blank Flash movie file in between the banner and the blog.

If you take out lines 28-36, i.e. from (in case the line numbering works differently for you) then the gap closes up and everything seems to work fine.

However, rather than take it out altogether, maybe just comment it out ( at the end) in case Flash is doing something useful on the page that I haven't noticed!
