Alex is quite pissed off atm cause he was 6-2, 5-4 up and serving for the match.....he's up to 260ish in the world now which is great but definately could have been higher. He had food poisoning against Motomura in Manchester, 4 match pts in rd2 in Russia against Ebden, set pts against Ysern last week and should have won this one.......
still it goes around and comes around......his serving kept him in the rd1 against Cakl this week. Cakl was so good from the back of the court for most of the match, dominated set 1, Alex just about managed to hold serve till 6-5 in the 2nd when he got close on the cakl serve for first time and broke.....3rd set was again him just clinging on, then played a great tiebreak
Great win for Josh, and he should take the title now, as he's a much better player than Kindlmann, and I think this should take him to the top 200 if he can win the title.
Don't know what happened to Yang though, as that's a very bad loss, losing 0 and 1.... guess the match with Slabba took too much out of him (and a shame Slabba couldn't close the match out, but it does seem a problem for him recently, so hope he can get over it soon)
Still, losing 0 and 1 to someone like Kindlmann is a shocking result, even for a 17-year-old kid, although he's not likely to play well every day (why couldn't he have played like that yesterday!!!)
