Another big shock in the womens draw last night, many people's pick for the title on here Kuznetsova crashing out in 3 sets to Srebotnik 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. Wasn't a great match, Srebotnik got very tight at the end of the 2nd, didn't think she'd make it. She was very aggressive, getting to the net a lot which was a great strategy as she can't compete with Kuzy from the back, and Kuzy struggled to deal with it
Roddick looked really shaky early on against Gulbis, I thought he'd be going out after that 1st set but once he nicked the 2nd he was very sharp
Is fatigue going to catch up with Nadal ??? He usually looks very good in the early rounds here but then bombs out surprisingly in the quarters....can Blake be the man to do that this year
No-one has looked very impressive at all, and I think there could a real surprise winner on the mens/womens side.
Didn't think Kuzzy would lose to Srebotnik, but never had her down as winning the event, as despite being in the weaker half, she'd have choked in the final.
Williams sisters look the best so far, but that generally means they'll lose before the finals, while the worse they play in the early rounds, the deeper they go.
Jankovic isn't looking good, so I'm left with Safina or Dementieva to win the title, but no confidence in that pick
On the men's side... Nadal hasn't been looking good, nor has Djokovic, but Federer looked awful against Alves, and I wouldn't be surprised if Stepanek beat him.
No-one else is really stepping up either, with Murray, Ferrer, Roddick, Del Potro, Blake etc all struggling in the early rounds, and Davydenko and Nalbandian the only two having an easy time at the moment, but I think Monfils will beat Nalby today.
Still would slightly favour Djokovic to win, but he hasn't looked that good so far,
Nishikori looks a very exciting player. No idea where he found the strength to defeat Ferrer in the fifth set, especially having missed a match point when he served for it.
Don't think Querrey will win, but he's showing the way to beat Nadal on a hard court is to take the match to him and try and hit through him, which still works if you can do it properly, despite Nadal's improvement on hard courts.
Fish in the QF's could beat him if he plays the match of his life as he has the game to do so, but don't think he will do so.
Murray has to take the attack to Nadal if they meet, as it's the only way to beat him
