Main draw entrants are Hannah James, the in form Steph Cornish, Laura Slater & Hannah Martin-Merchant - Hannah moved up from qualies after some withdrawals.
The 3 1991 girls here will be trying to use this event to help them move in to the top 100 for the first time whilst Martin-Merchant is looking to break the 300 mark for the first time.
Whatever the result from Beijing tomorrow, no one will want to see S Cornish next to them in the draw, she is playing some great tennis & showing the true fighting spirit that made her a stand out prospect a couple of years back & with the way she is playing I would back her to break the top 100 here....thats if she does'nt do it by winning tomorrow!!!

Cornish keeps the winning roll going with a 4 & 1 win. Jen ren won 2 & 1 Hannah James beat Jess Ren 5 & 5 (good fight from Hannah, she didnt play her best but came back in both sets with good spirit, in what was a tough match mentally for her) Hannah Martin-Merchant lost to 4th seed 1 & 4. Laura Slater still on.

i am pretty sure she lost 6-1 6-1. The players are really struggling in the heat-it is over 34 degrees and the trainer has been on to many matches to players affected by it.
Cate is right, Laura lost 6-1 6-1! It was very hot 2 days ago when the singles was played & lots of people suffered. Even though Hannah James, Steph Cornish & Laura played late & under flood lights it was still very hot & humid. I think there was 3 retirements during the day due to the heat, it's tough & that makes the first set so so important.

Hannah James won comfortably 6-2 6-3 Steph Cornish won easily 6-0 6-2 Jen Ren lost to Grace Yisidora (INA) 5-7 6-4 6-1, ran out of steam in the final set although I feel this is the sort of match she should be winning, Steph beat Yisidora last week 4 & 6.
Not sure how Jen got on in doubles? Hannah & Steph are giving this week a miss to be in the best shape possible for next week in Osaka.

....... What is the indonesian forum?
There is a forum dedicated to women's tennis (www.tennisforum.com) which has a Juniors section. In that section there is a thread for this tournament (http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=358650). Within that thread an Indonesian poster has given updates for Ysidora, through his or her contacts.
Anyway good luck to Hannah for the final - I hope she is better in early matches than Andy!
