It looks like the Wardninator hasn't turned up here either (Jamie Baker having pulled out a few days ago) because he's not in qualifying and the top seed in qualifying was one place above him on the Alt list.
QR1: Joe Cooper UNR v Andrew Ochotta (CAN) UNR - a 15-year-old who lists one of his hobbies as Poker, which is a bit of a worry! QR1: (q15) Neil Pauffley WR 1486 v Rafael Artiles (DOM) UNR

QR1: Joe Cooper UNR lost to Andrew Ochotta (CAN) UNR 7-5 7-5 QR1: (q15) Neil Pauffley WR 1486 def Rafael Artiles (DOM) UNR 6-2 6-0
QR2: (q15) Neil Pauffley WR 1486 v Francesco Vilardo (ITA) WR 1666
Seems like an it should be straightforward for Neil as Vilardo has lost in the first round of qualifying the past 6 events and his point only came when his opponent retired
Not that straightforward, Neil won 4-6 6-3 1-0 Ret. but good enough. Next up for him, tomorrow, is Boris Nicola Bakalov (BUL) who managed to see off the 4th seed. He should win through but... a wouldn't go amiss.
Just to clarify, Neil Pauffley (q15) beat Francesco Vilardo 4-6 6-3 1-0 rtd!
FQR: (q15) Neil Pauffley WR 1486 vs Boris Nicola Bakalov (BUL) UNR
On the face of it, Neil should qualify with relative ease, but Bakalov dismissed the more highly ranked q4, Andrei Ciumac (MDA/1090), in QR2, so he may have a trick or two up his sleeve...!
Richo was talking about the FQR match, not the QR2 match, in case that caused confusion, and he was right:
FQR: (q15) Neil Pauffley WR 1486 beat Boris Nicola Bakalov (BUL) UNR by 6-4 3-6 7-5
Switching to 15 Dec rankings:
L32: (Q) Neil Pauffley WR 1483 v Sheeva Parbhu (USA) WR 778
At least Neil avoided a seed, I hope he can manage an upset this time and get himself a point for all his efforts - he's won 7 matches during this stint in the DR without getting a ranking point.
