Ohh- Shame for Josh that he couldn't quite manage to grab a second set. But he's starting to play with the 'big boys' and doesn't seem out of his depth - having seen him play he has an adaptable game that should have wiggle room for overall power [his main weakness imo] improvement which will see him really competing with top500+ opponents.
Yes, that's been some season by Dr No - he did of course break the (recent years) record for most pro matches played in a season by a Brit simply by playing today. 102 matches makes him 5= busiest player in the world this year assuming nobody else with over 100 matches is still playing.

James McGee marches on a 6-4 6-7(4) 6-4 winner over Colin's conqueror, Chikhladze. Any news on how Col & Jonny have done in the doubles. The CZE web site ain't very forthcoming on the doubles results.
Going with form in the doubles with all the seeds through to tomorrow's SFs. Fingers crossed Col & Jonny can sneak theirs, with a bit of luck Begemann will be tired after his singles QF.
Whoops! Made a blunder there. The top seeds, Mertl & Zeman, have still to play their QF. Apologies for misleading the many doubles fans.

He must have been. The boys didn't sneak it, they romped home 2 & 2! Opponents in the final not yet known.
Tomorrow then, Saturday 20th December, should see the final match of the Brits Mens for this year. Two more weeks and we'll have something to follow again!

No it won't! The other SF is not until tomorrow, so it looks as though the doubles final will be Sunday, along with the singles final. I must have put the hex on the top seeds, they went and lost 6-3 2-6 [6-10].
Jonny & Colin will face Jaroslav Pospisil & Jiri Skoloudik (CZE) in the final. They are no mugs despite being unseeded, Pospisil is top 200 doubles and top 250 singles while Skoloudik is top 700 singles.
The doubles final starts after the singles final (which unfortunately doesn't include Ireland's James McGee who lost in the SF) which begins at 09:00 GMT.
6 titles and 22 wins in a row for Colin. I can definately see him pushing on and being top 100 doubles next year at least. Ken Skupski, Jonny & Bloomers are all easily capable of being top 100 doubles if they choose that route as well. I think Ken definately will become a doubles specialist and seeing as Jonny & Bloomers having being hanging around the smaller challengers for a good few years now you wonder if they quit the singles game as well.
