encouraging that Evo took Lacko to 3 sets, shame the final one wasn't competitive (it would seem). sometimes you get the impression that the lower player gives his all to take it into a 3rd but then has nothing left in the tank, similar to boggo v mayer last week.

Thats a shame for baker as well, would have expected better. lets hope he improves soon.

big ask for ken next, and looks like lacko in the top half, but maybe Flembo can have a say in it yet.

And finally...

... the doubles results:

(1)  Col & Ken motor on, beating Bradshaw & Brassington 6-2 7-6(5);

(2)  Jamie B makes up to some extent for his singles defeat by joining Chris Eaton to beat the third seeds, Belyaev & Krotiuk, by 3 & 2, which means Col & Ken (1) are the only seeds left in the draw! biggrin

*  The above two pairs meet in the SF in the top half.

(3)  Alexander Bull & Thomas Knights lost to Jouan & Ysern by 0 & 1, but Dan S & Marcus Willis carried on their merry way, beating King & O'Brien 7-6(4) 6-3 & so face J & Y in the other SF.

Hopefully it will be a Fleming v Skupski singles final and then they team up to take the doubles trophy.

kens having a blinder maybe top 500 this year, but that bloke who beat him in the british tour, max jones (arka used to like him) must be promisisng, think i saw him in a list for USA futures in week 4 can't wait to see how he gets on

Not a good start to the day, though Ken's had a good run this week.

There's a 2-minute spot on tennis in Scotland with lots of footage from Scotstoun at http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/videnc/news/repscot/bb/rep1830_all_16x9_bb.asx - starts at about 18 m 20 s - Fleming and Annacone are interviewed and I spotted Baker, Bloomers, etc in the footage as well.

I was there when they did the Flembo interview...trying to avoid the camera...!
