Laura dosen't appear to be struggling in the heat so far I watched her matches against McHale & Nijric she move very well and looks to change direction better that she did at Wimbledon About 30 minutes after the Nijric match she came back to court 21 and clapped and cheered on Heather against Inoue for about 15 minutes at that time she was due to play doubles at 1.30pm so she appears to be ok in the heat so far. Laura's on MCA at 15.00 tomorrow the only matches they have switched so far to the Hisence arena have been MCA matches Although the other semis is due on Show Court 2 at 15.00 The heat tomorrow is meant to be another 40+
For those who haven't picked up on Heather's future plans the following was in her local paper a couple of weeks ago. After the tournaments mentioned she has also been given a WC for the Jersey 25K in March.
Interesting quote from her father regarding a Wimbledon WC. If correct then they have altered the WC policy from the last 2 years.
"HEATHER WATSON has set her sights on senior Wimbledon this year.
The 16-year-old Guernsey star, who is ranked as the 13th-best junior player in the world, will make her senior tournament debut at the end of February in Florida.
She is also confirmed to play in three more professional events with a view to put in some good performances to earn herself a wild-card entry to Wimbledon.
If Heather is up there with the top 12 Brits, shell get a wild card, said her father Ian.
Watson is currently on her way to Australia, where she is competing in the Opus Nottinghill International, Melbourne this weekend, before taking part in the Australian Junior Open.
She is then heading back to Florida, where she is a student at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, before making her senior debut at the $50K Clearwater Tournament, which begins on 23 February."
Watson has also received confirmation that she will compete in the $25K Fort Walton Beach event in Florida at the start of March."
I assume we have the heat rule in force at the moment. Laura was scheduled to start over 2 hours ago but only the Rod Laver arena have been playing, no action on any other courts yet.
