Good job Boggo is not taking part in the DC play-off charade this week...too many points to defend here!
And a decent chance to defend some of them at least as he's the 5th rank player in the draw - shame that the DC play-off is this week, as there would have been a decent chance for those involved to get some points this week.
i am sure SG will make his normal thread soon, but the wk 9 challenger lists are out and boggo has opted for the tougher bergamo over cherboug. he scraps in as penultimate DA.
which means that he is only going to play one low level challenger at the start of the year. i guess it still shows that he has the belief by going up against tougher events and he was a break up on beck in the 3rd set recently even if he couldn't hold on. but it leaves a lot to luck in the draws at belgarde and bergamo as its easy chance to get a top 125 player 1st rd.
having said that i used to see indoor hard as alex's main time of the year to pick up points, but i recent years he seems to have been more consistent on out door hard. he has also won bergamo (i am assuming its played at same venue) so maybe he will get good vibes.

Beck went on to reach the semi finals in Wroclaw without dropping a set in his other two wins, so theoretically Boggo could have done the same, and that would have been considered a great result.
Bergamo does look a much tougher list, but he wouldn't have been seeded in Cherbourg, so he may as well go for the event with the higher points tariff and hope for a good first round draw.
yes and i think i read Beck was ill in the match he lost.
it just seems strange alex, hasnt played much this year which is why i feel its risky at these tough events, but his loses have been to meyer and beck, so both quality, and under ranked and sdc who seems to be on the form of his life reaching the 2nd rd at the AO the reaching the QF in Johannesburg atp last week.
hopefully 3 back to back weeks coming up will give us a decent idea where his game is at.
