Steven is Eztebe in Basque and Esteve in Catalan, so I'll stick to my GB/American mother guess!
(apologies for Morgan for the complete hijack that's been perpetrated on this thread when we should be celebrating his win )

L16: Alex Ward WR 973 lost to Steven Diez (ESP) WR 1140 by 2 & 3 L16: (PR) Morgan Phillips WR 1496 lost to (WC) Angel Alonso-Campos (ESP) WR 1565 by 2 & 2
As I said yesterday, Diez has never been in the top 1000, but managed to beat Cox and Milton a year or so ago, so I was prepared for a possible shock there, but Alonso-Campos only had to beat an unranked WC in R1 and that was only his 2nd win in his last 14 matches, so for Morgan to get so comprehensively beaten by him when he had seemed to be coming into some good form is almost impossible to understand.

Either that or the score being the wrong way round were the only likely explanations, so you're probably right. I wish it had been the scores the wrong way round, Morgan so doesn't deserve to be injured yet again. Hopefully not too serious if he lasted the match though.

Couple of disappointing results there, but with Morgan pulling out of next week's event, it does suggest some kind of injury.
Maybe it could have something to do with having played a lot of matches recently and having only just come back from injury, he doesn't want to overexert himself by having to play another load of matches just to qualify
