Most games have gone to 30 or deuce
At 4-3 40-0 Rich held 3 BP but AM fought back to hold 4-4
Rich was broken for 4-5 then AM served out to love to take first set 4-6

My scoreboard hasnt worked since Bl@st

Shame, still encouraging that he's getting some wins

Hope he gets a better draw next time

We now have a representative in the top half of the doubles:  Thierry Ascione & Josselin Ouanna have withdrawn, presumably because of the latter's injury, whatever that may be, & they have been replaced by Bloomers & the American, Scott Oudsema. smile  Should they overcome Olivier Charroin & our old Polish friend, Dawid Olejniczak, in the first round, they will face the French pair, Mathieu Montcourt & Alexandre Sidorenko, in the QF.

I suppose I should have known better.  Definitely not Bloomers' day today:  he & Oudsema lost their doubles match 2-6 6-3 [7-10]. cry  So close... bleh.gif

*  We find out tomorrow whether Delgo & Dominik will face the third seeds, Aucks & Torres, or Skups & Koning in the QF, as the latter two pairs meet on the Tourlaville court at 12.30 GMT.  Impartial Brits can't really lose...! wink

Stéphane Robert has a main draw WC for this one, of course. They just can't escape him ... doh

And he can't quite escape his compatriots, at least not in the first round:  he's drawn ERV, the seventh seed! biggrin  At least he's in the opposite side of the draw to Bloomers, too. wink
And ERV duly "did the biz":  saw him off in straight sets, 6-3 7-6(3). biggrin

For future reference, ERV is 8-0 lifetime v Brits, so he's almost as bad!

Shame to see Bloomers lose, but Mannarino is a decent player so it was probably expected - looks like he fell away a bit in the second set though.

Bloomers is getting the wins together at the moment, but just needs to start winning main draw matches - but I'm sure it will come once he gets a nice draw somewhere.

We can now; unfortunately Koning has been called up to the Netherlands Davis Cup team for their tie in Argentina and has had to withdraw. Aucks & Torres will now face the alternate team of Rohan Gajjar & Purav Raja (IND).

Delgo & Meffert tackle Aucks & Torres at noon GMT tomorrow.  I'm kinda hoping Aucks & Torres will run out the winners, but I certainly wouldn't write off the other pair's chances...no

D/M break for *3-2

A/T  break straight back 3-3

Just thinking about Skupski, he must be as sick as a parrot - all the expense of getting there and then not playing one match when his partner gets called to the DC !
