Ashley Hewitt has got in on the act too with another corker of a result - I do hope the BBC are getting these results right (though I did expect the other winners in this batch to win, so that looks hopeful)
Sebastian De Chaunac (Fra) bt Mathieu Guenat (Swi) 6-2 6-4
If Ashley's result is indeeed correct then it is mightly impressive - although he did push Dan Evans to three sets in qualies for Edinburgh. Maybe the court surface just suits his game. Anyone got any idea on where Ashley trains?

Bath, and he was one of Greg Rusedski's very successful U16 team last year along with out current youngest ranked player James Marsalek and George Morgan that ended up doing well in junior DC.
Anyway, on the current rankings we have just one player born after the end of 1990 on the ranking list (Marsalek, Apr 1992), but on 18 May we will have 5 or 6, since Gabb (Feb 1992) EDIT: and Jack Carpenter (Apr 1992) will go on the list next Monday and Davis (May 1992), Hewitt (Feb 1992) and possibly Golding (Sep 1993) will join on 18 May. That's quite a difference!

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Wow! That's the result of the year so far right there.
As of now we have one junior ranked (Marsalek) but in the next two weeks Gabb, Carpenter, Davis and Hewitt will all join him. What's weird is that none of the are 91 borns they are either 92 or 93. (EDIT: Steven has just made the exact same point, but he did miss out Carpenter).

It's unlikely the OOP will be out until all the matches today have been completed, but if you do go, it would be great to have someone telling us what happened in the matches rather than just relying on the scores.
But some great results so far today, and this tournament is already a lot better than the other clay court events.
Massive wins for Davis and Hewitt to get their first points, especially Hewitt's win, as Poch-Grandin is a very useful player.
Smashing win for Cox - wasn't sure whether or not he'd get the win, but to drop just 1 game to Blandin is a really good result, and he now should be looking at the QF's minimum from this event, and maybe further if he is some really good form.
Nice win for Arlidge as well, but Illy is in a bad run of form at the moment and just needs to find some wins.
And with three Brit vs. Brit matches still to come, plus Cavaday and Rice who have decent chances, and Morgan Phillips and Slabba still to play their matches, there's a good chance of getting a great points haul out of this event.
