Yet another break, 4-3 to Chak.

Breaks currently lead holds 9 games to 6.

Looks like Anne's failure to break back in the last game has proved costly as Chak breaks again to lead 5-1.

Disappointing from Anne and typical Bally finds a way to win out of what looks like a bit of a ropy performance.

No mistake on match point 4, Bally wins 6-3 6-7(3) 6-4.   Pretty comfortably victory really apart from 15 mins at the end of the 2nd set and the beginning of the 3rd, otherwise it would have been over a lot sooner.

Anne consolidates the break to lead 5-2

I like the use of the words 'pretty comfortable'. Coming back from 3-0 down in the final set would seem to me a bit of a struggle given the strength of the opposition.

Bally has now broken the 1000 ranking point barrier and should end IW just outside the top 60, even if she doesn't get past Li (which hopefully she will!), but the most impressive thing is that she's averaged over 50 points a week (even including weeks she didn't play) since the start of 2010 - that's top 25 standard! smile.gif (as a caveat, she has had some very decent draws over that period, but it's still one heck of a start to the year smile.gif)

Isn't your points allocation for Bally a bit generous? (30 + 50 rather than 30+80?)

Well, Bally still keeps her undefeated 2010 record against players ranked below her. Awesome, given it is now March.

Oops, yes, late night brain malfunction wink ... she has averaged nearly 50 points a week then.

Well she was never really behind on her serve and always seemed to get into Glatch's service games.  Just that little stretch which saw her lose the 2nd and fall behind in the 3rd but fortunately she regained her form before it was too late.
