Naomi wraps up a comfortable win, without having to serve out, and will face Dia Evtimova in the final qualifying round, someone who has stuck in the 200s and should be beatable
Good win there Naomi, Fedossova hasn't had a good year but she can still be dangerous. Let's hope she win's tomorrow and sets up that match with Bally.
Good win for Cav. Unpredictable as Cav's form is I'm going to predict a win for her tomorrow. At what stage though does RG qualies come into play if at all ?
If she qualifies and wins her first round match does she withdraw or does she play on and pull out of RG. Decisions, decisions.

There is unlikely to be any decision for Naomi to make. The Roland Garros qualifying draw is made on Tuesday late afternoon (at least that is the usual time) and anyone still in Strasbourg will be automatically withdrawn from RG.
If Naomi qualifies she has to hope that her first round match on Tuesday goes ahead before the cut-off time (they do usually schedule it that way, but the weather can intervene). She will not be allowed to withdraw from Strasbourg in favour of Roland Garros at any stage having qualified. However if she loses her first-round match on Tuesday before the French Open draw is made then she will be included.
It's for this reason that the qualies in Strasbourg are so weak.
Thanks for that. The thought process then changes to does she tank her first round match( assuming qualification) to ensure being able to play RG. Still decisions, decisions.
Naomi is third on court following Bergot (set down to Duque Marino) and Daniilidou. If she qualifies she could end up playing Bally

Any match on clay is tough for Bally, but this draw looks good if she avoids Cirstea
In hindsight three out of the four qualifiers look tough to me. Only the Cav potential matchup to me would provide her with a definite winning opportunity. What worries me about Bally is her mental attitude towards playing on this surface. Not helped by losing to Arn. If Nino can sort that out she can certainly get results on this surface. To me it looks as if she has already written off the clay court season and is preparing for the grass. She has even entered Nottingham whilst Anne and Katie haven't. June will be a busy month for her and instead of choosing to gain further clay court experience in Madrid she withdrew.
