Thats the same injury she had at Eastbourne.
Not bad just a little niggle.

I suspect Heather & Laura will play doubles a bit more often in the future. Their games would seem to complement each other really well. Big serve and power from Laura and good movement from Heather. Besides, I like Wabson as a nickname.

Yes, Sally I recall was due to be playing the Aus Open with someone else who pulled out and she invited Laura to team up with her.

I do recall Laura was the stronger partner generally but in some of the coverage I saw Sally did play well at times too.  Laura isn't that good to single handedly get a doubles team to the Aus Open quarter finals, it was a partnership.

They may indeed have decided then that Laura was going to team with Sally at Wimbledon and that seems quite understandable, possibly part payback to Sally from Laura but maybe just it was great, let's do it again.

I didn't see any of today's match so don't know how badly or otherwise Sally played and how much she froze.  But it is quite possible that it was just an arrangement for Wimbledon anyway with possibly see how it goes there.

Be quite good for Laura if she can find a good regular partner although how much more she could actually play the rest of the year, with her age restrictions on how many tournaments she can play, I'm far from clear.

Spot on here.

I would also like a regular, more senior partner for say, half a season to a season while she is young so she learns the tricks of the trade etc. while she is young.

I wouldnt be surprised if Laura was put into Fed Cup in the next few years and could be called on for the doubles tie with Borwell which would be an ideal chance of experience for Laura, whose ability to generate angles and a great serve could be channelled to make a very effective little doubles player!

Next years Fed Cup team must surely be Bally, Sarah, Anne and Heather? Unless Mel and Katie have a great turnaround.

I don't understand murray 2k9 your last post. You say you wouldn't be surprised if Laura was picked for the Fed Cup in the next few years but then you've not put her in the 4 you've selected.
If Laura continues to play juniors next year you may have a point because of the proximity of the staging of this event to the final of the juniors at the Aussie event.

At the moment my first choice would be Bally, Anne/Sarah, Laura and Heather.

Yeah in the next few years I think she will be selected, but not next year thats all. I dont think her team will want her to commit to Fed Cup until shes a bit older but Heather is a senior player now so I suspect they will take her.
