It does seem very skewed to winning the 1st round. 2 points for getting there (ie losing in the first round) 40 for getting to qr2, 50 for getting to qr3 and 60 for qualifying.
You get 5 points for making in to the 1st round by right, then it goes 100(2nd round), 160(3rd round), 280(4th round), 500(quarters), 900(semis), 1400(losing finalist), 2000(winner)

Devastated by that one. Was shocked at how easily she was going and then it fell apart.
Could have been 5-0 up in the third, had points for *3-0 3-1* *3-2 and a point for *4-5 after saving 2 match points.
Down to 250 and its a long way back. She works, fights and tries so hard and I so wanted her to shake of 2010 and do well here. It was 2 points away at *5-4 30-15 and instead its back to being unseeded in 25's.
So sad.
But brilliant from Heather and Anne. Reckon both can qualify
That's very good looking wins for Heather and Anne.
As for Katie, oh my word ! Now generally losing a 3 set match to Minella is far from being that bad and leading one 6 - 3 5 - 2 ( 2 breaks up ) was pretty good, but not to win from there was a shocker just when she herself was hoping she was putting 2010 behind her.
Gee, I don't know if you try and learn from what happened or just try and put it behind as an aberration but I do so hope it doesn't effect her too much going forward.

What nonsense to say that Katie has 'no way back' from here!
Doing well in 25ks, and the odd higher ITF is how she got into the top 100, and it's how she'll get back up where she belongs. She'll still be able to get into 25k MDs, and will be well probably seeded in the ones she's entered in in France and Sutton - a few good wins there and she'll easily recoup the 90 (100-Auckland) she's lost here. Katie excels indoors, and the next few months will probably be very good for her at 25k level - IMO she should've spent far more time at that level last season, to build confidence. A return to that level is no bad thing and she will probably flourish on it.
Hate people trash-talking a player on the basis of one tight loss :(
Heather gets the jitters. Goes 40-0 up to bp down then gets another mp, not taken, Mlad wins 2 in a row, HW saves another bp, gets another mp (her 5th) and.....loses the point (kinda how me writing this sentence feels right now), another mp for Heather, let's see her 6th of the game.....and it's back to duece, this is fun in a masochistic kind of way, now bp for Mladenovic, but as expected Heather wins that point so back to duece, now Heather has a 7th chance at winning this match, and with the breath leaving me she takes it.
GSM to Heather 6-3 6-2
Thanks for this....... I missed it, but now 'I was there' !
I agree that she could do well dropping down a level or 2, and trying to rebuild her confidence. It's just hard to watch a player struggling.
Edit: I was doing something else as I was typing this, and its worded horribly. I'll try again!
I dont think that anyone is "trash talking" Katie. There aren't too many players that have dropped down as much as she has (without injury), and had the mental toughness to come back. Dropping down a level is now the only option she has. Whether she feels able to do that, and fight it out down at the 25k level we'll have to wait and see. Personally, I think she is a lot more capable of doing it than most players, just on her attitude. She doesnt seem like the kind of person that would just give up because it got tricky!
No matter what happens, I'm sure she get a lot of support from all of us.
