Yes, Heather would obviously have liked better serve statistics. But of course is often thus even in top women's matches that you have as many ( or even more ) breaks as service holds.
Ultimately Rodina overall got the better of both her own and Heather's service to appear a fairly deserved winner though Heather certainly made her work for it at the end.
Another very good week for Heather, I think tinged with just a little thought that the chance was there with probably quite an even set of remaining players of a sensationally good week.
IW was on this weeks ranking, not next weeks as I thought originally. It was posted on Tennis Forum that she was 10 places out yesterday. I suspect she should be a in Miami now or very close to it.

Well she was ranked 145 in this week's rankings. Now her new ranking points total of 524 equates to a ranking of WR 133 in the current ranking table so that looks pretty good for making Miami qualifying ( I assume it will be based on a week Monday's ranking list when her points total will still be the same assuming she's not in action next week ).
Even last year she got a MD WC for Miami last year. It was said then that was because of the strong ties the tournament has always had with IMG, her management company. Florida has also of course been pretty much her base so I was really expecting at the very least a Q WC this year if necessary.
Just hope she gets in to IW one way or another. One of the very top 18 yos, performing so well so far this year, c'mon, but we're biased
Serve ultimately the problem but still another very good week, next stop IW.
Is Heather definitely into IW ?
I was thinking a fair chance of some sort of WC for IW, although I would think better chance in Miami if required there.
It was based on the assumption that the Americans tend to hand out WCs for this tournament to the top international up and comers, so even if she doesn't make the cut via her own ranking I will be gobsmacked if the tournament organisers don't at least give her a QDWC. They want the best players playing in their tournament.
