Must be one of the weakest draws I have seen for a WTA tour event. Its usually a weak draw but this week the number 1 seed isn't even ranked in the top 50.
So huge opportunity for both our players. Anne loves it here being a double semifinalist the last two years so must fancy her chances to go deep again. Whilst Heather is on an upward curve and should fear noone left in the draw.

Heather progress through qualifying was stressless apart from squandering several setpoints at the end of the first set against MLDB.
She then moved up a gear to despatch the Czech girl which beforehand I saw as a 50/50 match. It was also probably the toughest draw as well for drawing a non seed.
I thought Govortsova would then beat Foretz but that pesky French girl surprised with an upset. So a rematch and another 50/50 match IMO. I tweeted to Heather after her loss last week that next time she played the French girl the result would be different never did I think it would happen so quickly a rematch though. Foretz also seems to have stepped it up this week so it really could go either way.

It would be very very annoying if among all Heather's really good wins this year, she was to lose again to Foretz Gacon.

I am not normally one to take as much notice as some folk appear to do of head to heads, particularly from 2 or 3 years ago, believing relative form is what really counts.

But with last week's loss to Foretz Gacon and big loss last September in Canada there maybe is some reason to have a worry about this match-up, and it would be good to see Heather come through this latest match.

Anne 3rd on Stadium court so around 7pm UK again.
