From Jess: Play cancelled for today. 4-1 up in the 3rd set

Edit: I'm guessing that's Q2, unless BYE is putting up one of it's rare fights

Looking at the OOp for tomorrow today seems to have been another write off.

Almost but not quite - Jess Ren managed to finish off the 3rd set of her QR2 match:

Q2: REN, Jessica (GBR) 13 1096 beat GUTIERREZ PEREZ, Paula (ESP) 6-4 3-6 6-2

Q3: REN, Jessica (GBR) 13 1096 v RAMALALAHARIVOLOLONA, Nantenaina (MAD) UNR

MAD = Madagascar, not a comment on the name! Try saying "game, set & match Ramalalaharivololona" and you might find it's not as hard as it looks. Hopefully that's not something the umpire will have to say tomorrow though!

I guess if any of the players there are bored with lack of matches ( indeed if any of your good selves are bored ) then there are always games you can play like :

How many words of four letters or more can you make out of  RAMALALAHARIVOLOLONA  ?    smile

If any play was possible on Tuesday there wasn't much of it as QR2 matches are still on the OOP for today

Qualifying on a Thusday anyone?

Latest tweet from Jess suggests that they may as well give up

What happens if the week is a washout. Do they just abandon it?

Probably.

I was just checking something on the ITF site and saw that rain affected a tournament in Cali, Columbia, last week, disrupting the final - or as the ITF saw it 'Super Cali was fantastic but the weather was atrocious!'

I think so, they did that with a challenger in Reunion recently.

It looks as if Anna Fitzpatrick and Jocelyn Rae must have withdrawn as they don't appear in the main draw.

The forecast is sun tomorrow and dry on Friday, but given that they have 7 1/2 rounds to complete and heavy rain is forecast for the weekend, they might as well give up and spend Thursday on the beach!

A pity there isn't an indoor option.
