Hardly an impressive set of tennis from Heather (looking at the stats) but she won it. Bizarre how a player can go from failing to win a single point behind their 2nd serve in 10 attempts to dominating on 2nd while struggling to win points on first.

Certainly giving good practice to that 2nd serve in the first game of the third set and wins 4 out of 5 of them, so leads smile

Hradecka has won 9 of her last 10 matches, winning the Midland 100K then reaching the semis at Memphis WTA.

Seems from stats had a few serve issues in the first set. As said she won 0/10 second serves, and half of these were actually DFs !

Although her first serve % went down below 50% in the second set to 48% ( was 53% overall ) she only had one DF in that set and won 12 /17 on second serve, actually better than her 7/16 first serve rate.

In the third set didn't serve a DF and only dropped one point on each of first and scond serve, winning 7 / 8 and 5 / 6 poiints respectively.

Overall Heather won 6 out of 6 BPs ( Castano 5 out of 7 ) and strolled the final set, only dropping 7 points there.

So certainly got better and better as the match wore on, so hope she starts again where she finished tonight.
