Great photos - and nice to be able to put a face to people I read about but never see.

Bet365 are providing live scores from Court 1 this week. Therefore, it would've been nice had the all British clash between Lucy Brown and Fran Stephenson been on this court. Failing that, Jade Windley, the other Brit still involved could've been scheduled for Court 1.

Unfortunately though, Court 1 is home to a tie between a Slovak v Italian, while Jade is on Court 2 and Fran v Lucy on Court 9!

The good news is that Slabba will be on Court 1 later.

From a photographers point of view the one I was most pleased to capture was Daneika's sliding recovery of a drop shot after a sprint from the baseline.

Of course an essential piece of equipment for a photographer to capture those ball on a racket photos is  a good tube of superglue. wink.gif

A much more one-sided match than I expected to start the day - Fran Stephenson thrashed Lucy Brown 0 & 1! She's really flying this week, not just in Peter's pic!

Would be really good to see some more players pushing up from the 700s and below towards the top 500.  Maybe such as Jade, Lucy Brown and Samantha Murray.  Actually if truth be told, after Joss,  I don't see anyone other than those 3 getting near in the foreseeable future. And our best junior prospects are just prospects at the moment and it will be a fairly long time yet before I can see any really delivering at senior level.

Err...plus Fran Stephenson  ashamed.gif

I did nearly add Fran before to the other 3 but did get the feeling she had gone off the boil a bit.  Though I suppose I should still have considered at her stage she could quite soon come onto the boil again,  err like this week.

Must admit on recent form I would have taken Lucy to win that.

We now know that Fran's QF opponent will be no 4 seed Alice Balducci. Coincidentally, their only previous meeting was at the same stage of the same tournament last year, Fran winning 4-4 ret.

Jade Windley has beaten ex-top 130 player Surina de Beer (RSA) WR 821 by 4 & 4 smile.gif

Wow, I had already been thinking that things had certainly picked up re our women's results at home and abroad this week since Terrible Tuesday.

But Katie's latest result and scoreline sure takes the biscuit so far    clap.gif

Very good wins today, which is pleasing to read. Katie has stepped up from her junior performances, and clay probably suits her. Clay definitely suits Fran, whose best results at junior and senior level are on this surface

Tbf, Werner came from beating Kai-Chen Chang in Stuttgart...although in fairness Chang has not yet won a match this year.
