It's a shame she had to withdraw from the earlier tournaments in India as I think she would've had a ranking already. Anyway, one more win will do it now.
This should give the 10 points needed to earn a ranking. She was a bit fortunate to get her earlier 8 points as she went through Wrexham $25K qualifying as a LL and then her opponent in R1 retired in the 1st set. However she has been showing steadily improving results, winning matches in qualifying tournaments and now in R1 and R2 of a main draw.
How on earth you spotted that Steven I don't know, but impressive stuff. Nearly as impressive as Miss Fosters performances this week.
I did a Twitter search to see if she was on there (I tend to put their @ name in the tweet if they are so people can follow them and/or congratulate them if they want to - I think it's got to be positive if players see people other than family/friends/coaches are noticing when they do well) and she wasn't (at least, there are a couple of Manisha Fosters, but I don't think either of them is her and I don't want to @ a random person with the same name LOL) but the Henin (6th sense) academy was the other twitter account that had mentioned her and they linked to that pic!
(sorry to spoil the mystery LOL )
Btw TBE from TF replied to me that he still thought it was 3 counters or at least one event with a 10+ score (and he tends to know these things, though his main area of expertise is the top 500), but I've asked the WTA rankings guy to clarify the (slightly ambiguous) rule and he has confirmed what we thought, i.e. 8+4 is enough, it doesn't have to include a double figure score from a single event.

Yes, the very first ranking list after the 10 point thing started confirmed the WTA were including folk earning at least 10 from 2 events in the rankings.
Would have been pretty ludicrous if they didn't. i.e 10 from 1 counting event and 3 from 3 being fine, but potentially not 18 from 2.

Yes, I thought I remembered us checking that out, that's why I was pretty sure she was going to be ranked.
And yes, your second paragraph makes perfect sense (then again, the ranking rules don't always ...!)

With her 8 points from Wrexham last year due to come off on 1st August, which at the moment would put her back to 4 points from one counting tournament, having got a ranking Manisha's short term aim must be to get another 6 points or two more counting tournaments so she can maintain a ranking beyond 1st August.
