In the QFs, she will probably play top seed Mihaela Buzarnescu (ROU) WR 300 (the girl who beat Lisa and Naomi to win the Izmir 25K last month), who is playing a Portuguese player ranked outside the top 1000 in R2.

 

Very jammy , especially since the unfortunate Buzarnescu was a set and 1-0 up when she retired! In fact, using Monday's rankings instead of last week's (see below), Yaz is now the highest-ranked player left in the top half of the draw, just ahead of Jennifer's conqueror in R1 Parrizas-Diaz:
