As far as I can see, I can not watch Sarah's match on bet365. Is it possible to keep me informed?
Sorry, Josef, I don't think we can help with up-to-the-minute scores. She's playing on the "wrong" court: if bet365 is going to cover one of today's semi-finals at Wrexham, it will be that between the second & the third seeds, Wienerova & Sirotkina. We may, however, get the result from the BBC some time after the match is complete, but before it's posted on the ITF site.
so happy that 'windypatrick' win the doubles, played unbelievable, won 6-2 4-6 10-3. mel not helped by her partner who was exhausted after playing a near 3 hour match in the singles.
I'll come back to the forum, when Sarah plays an other British tournament., because I'm Sarah-Fan. Bye
Spoke to Sarah for a length of time after her win, seems like a great girl, has had a few injury problems but was over the moon with the win.
Not going to play US open qualies and is going to take a little bit of timeout, and comeback strong for the indoor season when she is not defending any points.
Funniest thing she said when I asked her why she wasn't higher up the rankings, was that her coach said that her tennis arm was like a 'Ferrari' but her brain was made of 'diesel'.
The winner Gronert had some kind words to say about Jade's performance against her, basically that she was surprised by the power that Jade was producing from her smallish frame. Jade's double handed backhand is starting to develop into a weapon and the previous weeks performance against Laura was no fluke. She also comes across as a down to earth friendly girl. I wouldn't be surprised to see her break her career high very shortly and then some. Fran and Lucy also put in two very encouraging performances, so expect to see their rankings continue to rise.
Thanks for all the info in the week from Wrexhm, Phil, pity it wasn't rather more successful from a British point of view.
Interesting Sarah not planning on competing in US Open qualifiers. It does look as if she was maybe going to be ahead of Mel, Katie and Emily in next week's rankings *. So that couild help their chances of getting in. Anyone else for a rest ?
* can't really tell because I know she's adding 50 points but can't easily see what if anything has to come off. We have easily readable ranking "counting" tables for the men in the ATP site and the juniors in the ITF site, but as far as I am aware no such individual ranking points tables for the women.
It is encouraging to see players on the move towards the top 500. I wrote err maybe just a couple of months or so ago that I saw it being a long time before there were any new top 500ers among the women. Today Samantha has made it and looks like she can go higher, and it might not be that long before Jade and Lucy simlarly get there. Good to see.
