Anne always seems to start really well, then there's a close 2nd set which the opponent wins, and then Anne gives away the 3rd - so does she get tired, depressed or has no belief in herselfor what?....
Hope it's not serious, but the way the match ended (breaking to love followed by 0-30, having lost her previous 3 service games) I guess that the injury was impeding her serve.
They have finally updated the quaifying draw with the fqr results and it lists the reason for Anne's retirement as a left thigh strain.
Looking at her site, it says:
"The 27-year-old Brit pulled out at 5-7 7-6(5) 4-1 after struggling with her movement when her hip seized up shortly after her Greek opponent had taken a lengthy toilet break at the end of the second set.
Anne will next play the qualifiers in New Haven this weekend ahead of the US Open, where she reached the third round in 2008."
