13 months since Bally won back to back matches in a main tour event - I sense it isn't going to be easy to get over the line this time, brilliant as this comeback has been.

1-0* 2-0* *3-0 *3-1 - dtl winner off 2nd serve 4-1* 4-2* *5-2 - JG sure Bally hit that one long *6-2
Got it!! Bally wins 2-6 7-5 7-6(2), her first back to back in a main tour event since she beat Schiavone in Istanbul 13 months ago and for sheer fight, surely one of her best ever.
A day off tomorrow, then Cirstea or (Q) Rezai in the QFs.

Watched the first couple of games, Bally was very competitive, thought the upset was on, then watched as Goerges completely dominated the rest of the first set hitting winner after winner and thought ah well she's back on her game after a mid summer slump and this is going to be a routine 6-2 6-2 win. Went to bed, get up this morning and don't quite believe the turnaround, unbelievable fightback from Bally and the heat of Dallas doesn't seem to be a hindrance this week. Great stuff, now a day off and a real opportunity to make semis for the first time in her career at WTA level. Neither Cirstea or Rezai in Goerges class.
