QR2: Naomi Broady WR 230 v (q22) Chang Kai-Chen (TPE) WR 139 (CH 82 in 2010) QR2: Laura Robson WR 173 v (wc) Taylor Townsend (USA) WR 598 (CH 592 last week)
Both 5th on court, so probably after 22.00 BST
Chang has an 'interesting' record against Brits (lost to Mel in 2008, beat Bally in 2009, lost to Tara in 2010), while Laura's next opponent is a "fictional character from Fox TV series 'the OC'" according to Google, or in reality a 15-year-old non-fictional up-and-coming American, as mentioned above.
Edit: this post seems to have started a new page, so it seems worth editing the QR2 draws in even though they've been posted before.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I think Laura is the highest ranked player left in her section. Should really qualify...
That's what many of us said about James! She must have a very good chance now though, especially if she can serve as well as she did today.
..and I suppose one could say these players that have beaten the seeds in this section and higher ranked players than Laura shouldn't have really
But yes, Laura has a good chance, and I think the signs recently have been that she's finding some pretty decent form without really getting the breaks with her draws.

It's going to be touch and go whether the girls get onto play later on. Some heavy rain is likely to pass through the area about midday their time and stop play for a couple of hours probably before clearing, then around 5ish their time there is a risk of further heavy rain.
Unless it veers off course whatever remains of Hurricane Irene will be over new York on Sunday morning, which should make for interesting conditions. http://www.goes.noaa.gov/HURRLOOPS/huvsloop.html
Irene is at present is over the Bahamas as a category 3 hurricane and is expected to reach category 4 shortly. It's dumping 12 inches of rain very quickly as it passes over. Maximum wind speeds are expected to fall to 100mph by the time it reaches New York. Serve into that and the ball would likely come back and hit you in the face.
Play suspended a while ago and now raining heavily, so I'll now stick my neck out and say neither Laura or Naomi get on today.
As for the weather for the weekend, Sunday looks very wet with average wind speeds in XS of 40mph, so basically unplayable. Monday when the main draw starts, forecast to be dry but still windy but playable.
Small change to OOP following rain delay. Naomi now 4th on C13. But its raining again so no imminent start to play. I've since heard that play will start 1 hour earlier tomorrow as in all likelihood most of todays play will eventually be lost.
Far too slow haha. Outlook for the rest of the day looks good so they should get at least a couple of matches from each court played. My best guess is that they'll try and start the FQR matches tomorrow and complete the rest of them on Saturday, hopefully that will mean both Laura and Naomi. Weather forecast for Saturday is 50% risk of showers so the more FQR matches they can get played tomorrow the better.
Bet365 odds have Laura as an 80% chance whilst Naomi is given a 37% chance.
