" ................. The match of the day proved to be the last singles match on court, between second seed Dan Evans and Andy Fitzpatrick. In a match lasting 2 ¾ hours, Evans the world No.312, took the first set 6-4, winning 3 games in a row from 4-3 down. Fitzpatrick responded with an early break in the second, but was then broken back, before decisively breaking again at 4-3, to then serve out for the set 6-3.
With an exchange of breaks in the third, the match was decided on a tie break , which saw the unseeded Fitzpatrick win 3 points in a row from 5-4 down to secure victory 4-6 6-3 7-6(5). ............."

Some possible context here. On tuesday Rodiguez might have beat Mercer 1 and 0 but he didn't look anything special and he also had extensive treatment on a back injury. The later might have been a factor today.
Very decent of Josh and Richard to beat the last two foreign players making it an all Brit semi line up. 2 x 6pts, a 10pt and 18pt to be shared around the home players. Fairly hard to be too confident of either semi winner, good match ups.
