RE: Week 38 - ITF ($75K) - Shrewsbury, UK Hard

Home now. Will probably return on Thursday.

Just saw Hev going in the direction of courts, presumably to play her doubles. Looked quite 'bouncy'

Just wondered JC, is there a power point there for recharging laptops?

Ooooo we'll see.  From today's play I'd put my money (metaphorically ) on Naomi going deep.  She had 'something' about her today.

I think Tara's dayglo trainers may have contributed to her win

OK, I might allow one of the others to take over at any stage, it's just that Heather's route bumps into one of the other Brits' potential routes at each round. Just as long as each beat as many others as they can, including these GERs  ( shhh   smile )

Thanks for all your updates JC.  I just hope updating us didn't take away too much from you just enjpying the tennis.

Tougher field than I was expecting with Anne and heather just seeded 5 and 6.  Not so good that our best two unseeded players ( Naomi and Jo ) got quite high seeds.  I was hoping they might get easier looking tasks in the first round.

That's what I thought when I saw the draw too, but fantastic results from Naomi & Jo today! biggrin

Naomi and Joko are the ones who need it more. This tournament seems a bit like an afterthought for Heather. It's not going to affect her much even if she loses next round. Naomi and Joko, on the other hand, I feel are underanked with regards to their talent. They have big games and I think it's time to really start pushing on.

Five wins is a great result given there were only 2 favourites on ranking, neither of which I would have bet the house (or JC's moneywink ) on (Anne through patchy form, Heather through jetlag). Thanks for the updates and colour JC

She's an Aussie, living in UK, seeking Brit nationality.  Soon to be granted allegedly.

She was not playing on  the court closest to viewing, but from what I saw had a big game, AND moved well.

Since she was 12, I believe.
