Wow, what an absolutely cracking day. For all 4 to win with 3 beating seeds ranked well above them is tremendous.
So far that will take Jade to a career high, probably about WR 520 on Monday week.
As for Tara she does seem to really find her game at this time of year. I felt so sorry for her with the overall year she had last year, andt particularly the strong end to it, when she missed out on the AEGON funding team. Has not had the year I would imagine she hoped for after last year's big rankings rise, but certainly lately looking much better again.
Will be interesting to see how she competes against Jo, who seems in very good form, and hopefully relatively OK re niggles.

The tournament site gives Jade a great write-up (they use last week's rankings instead of the current ones):
"La plus belle rencontre a eu lieu en fin de soirée. La slovaque Kristina KUCOVA, 170ème [No 7] et la britannique Jade WINDLEY, qualifiée, 584ème, se sont livrées à un duel épique et de toute beauté. Au bout de 3 heures 11 de lutte, Jade s'est brillamment qualifiée au jeu décisif du dernier set. Quel match!"
"The best match of the day took place in the late evening. The Slovak Kristina Kucova WR 170 (seeded 7) and the Brit Jade Windley (qualifier) WR 584, engaged in an epic duel of great beauty. At the end of a 3 hour 11 minute struggle, Jade qualified for the next round brilliantly in the final set tiebreak. What a match!"

Great to see Tara playing better, I expect a much tighter match with Jo this time around.
Yes, and it was Hopefully indeed that much tighter scoreline is mostly down to Tara continuing to play at a higher level than she was a few months ago.
I had actually been hoping that Anne was serving 2nd in sets one and two ( the first set scores didn't really give much indication ) when Anne was 4 - 3 behind in the second set.
Now I rather hope she was serving 1st and is serving 2nd in the final set !
Hmm, can't see much evidence either way on the scores I've seen and it would mean at least a couple of breaks in the final set as against potentially no breaks if she is serving second.
But maybe you've seen more than me just on the thread and anyway it's probably not the greatest idea to judge this by seeming amount of breaks in a women's match
Edit : Ah, maybe you know more, but just on the scores I see above :
1st set : at least 2 breaks to 1 either way to Anne.
2nd set : at least 2 breaks to 0 against if she served first, 2 - 1 if she served second
Ah, great mysteries
