Just thought I'd update my inrunning ranking points total to the final end of week totals :
50. Elena : Total 1120 ( split pre Wimby 680, Wimby on 440 )
83. Anne : Total 822 ( split pre Wimby 363, Wimby on 459 )
89. Heather : Total 765 ( split pre Wimby 557, Wimby on 208 )
133. Laura : Total 501 ( split pre Wimby 74, Wimby on 427 )
So really great progress by Anne over the last couple of weeks. And it's pretty good for holding up rankings / moving up rankings in the first half of next year that three of the four have gathered over 400 points from the Wimbledon points being added at the beginning of July on.
Heather quite a bit behind here, significantly because of not managing a R1 win at either Wimbledon or the US Open, not for the want of trying on either occasion, i.e. seemingly heading for a really good R1 win at Wimbledon until she got her elbow injury and her sterling fight against Sharapova in R1 at the US open.
That though is a lot of points she has to defend earlier in the year. Of these 557, 70 are this week and another 206 from the first two months of next year. So if she doesn't hit the ground running next year and / or gets a tough Australian Open R1 draw there's a very fair chance she could slip outside the top 100, though I would certainly anticipate that that would be a temporary matter and Hev will come again and pass where she is now in the rankings.
It's quite possible Heather could initially pass Laura coming the other way, given Laura has so little to lose and so much to gain in the first half of the year, and after the Australian Open no further restrictions on her number of tournaments.

I wouldn't be surprised if Laura catches Hev in the first part of the year and then Hev gets back ahead of her in the second half. All depends on how good their offseasons turn out to be. Hev had an outstanding one last year, Laura had a shocker with the MTA bunch trying to introduce some technical changes and picking up some niggly injuries.
