Fascinating tie between Netherlands and Israel, and only time will tell if the final result helps us or not. It certainly looks good for us in terms of amount of court time put in by both Israel and Netherland's top two. Hopefully by the end of the group the advantage of having a team where everyone contributes will prove to be advantageous.

I do generally think that advantages are advantageous But whether advantageous enough we will see
OK, clearly still want to win the tie. But what we really really don't want to do is lose it 3 - 0 or Netherlands could be looking very good even if we beat Israel.
I'd like to thinking that winning this 2 - 1 is still a good shout though

If we lose this tie, we need Israel to beat Portugal.
I can't see the Dutch losing to Portugal, so even if we beat Israel we'd be out on the H2H.
Poor from Anne, she should have won that and it could cost us dear.
I think Bally will find Kraijeck a tough ask, I just hope she can keep the tie alive.
However if we beat NED 2-1, and Portugal also beat Israel we will be in a very strong position.
Peer's performance so far makes me think Bally is favourite to beat a tired Krajicek.
However if we beat Netherlands and then they beat Portugal, it would still be a winners take all GBR match vs Israel, whether Israel beat Portugal today or not.
So many ifs and buts still
I actually often don't really like H to H being involved. Sometimes makes such as above it perversely maybe being better if Israel win today. i.e. I think I actually prefer just who in the group wins most ties, then matches, then sets %, then games%, without H to H coming into it.

I think Bally just needs to play a solid match to win this, Krajicek was on court for 5 hours last night and said she was completely knackered last night after it had finished, just look at Peer's performance so far today.

Does anyone know their way around the Israeli web page?. Results must be there somewhere, but I'm darned if I can find them !
No, just been following scores on the Fed Cup pages and the resuts are not up re our group's matches.
Israel won the 2 v 2 in straight sets and I assume Peer then lost in straight sets, because she lost the first set decisively and now it's gone from live scores ?

I must learn to not post comments after coming back from the pub!
