RE: Fed Cup 2012

Thanks Indiana. I'd overlooked the head to head thing. All clear now.

I'm all for just winning and skipping the maths bit too, haha. Great bottle there from Bally eventually, lets go in the second set now!!!

Yep it'll be Austria for the winners of this group.

YES !    Pressure off.

Larcher de Brito wins her match and the tie for for Portugal.

Promotion play-off :   GB  vs  Austria

Relegation play-off :   Netherlands  vs  Estonia

Don't tell Baltacha and Peer, they're having a fun match  smile

Do you think Pe'er would play in the doubles if she does beat Bally? At the very least Bally is wearing her out....but I still think Bally will win this!

Will they still play the doubles later as this is settled? I hope so....I'd love to see Laura and Heather play.....

Im guessing no one will know for sure but do both the promotion playoffs matches start at the same time, if not do you think both will be streamed or will they show Israel??

I presume so, certainly if Peer wins this match.  Can't see either conceding the tie.

I don't really know, but I imagine all ties won have some effect on possible rankings and future seedings.  And also second place in the group isn't yet clear between Portugal and Israel for whatever that matters.

I would guess both promotion play-offs will be on the main court.  They have had early and late sessions all week.  Hope so and that they are streamed.

I don't know though.

Also, I'm not sure if Israel will be playing.  I think the 2nd and 3rds in groups do play-off for final positions, but I'm not sure ?

They definitely won't be showing Israel, unless they are in the crowd watching.

There can't be a meaningfull play-off for 2nd/3rd place - what does "best of the teams who were 2nd in groups A/C" mean? It doesn't give you a placing against the teams who were 2nd in groups B/D.

Yep, the other match is likely to be Poland vs probably Sweden.

I'm hoping the GB playoff match will again be at 2pm our time, as the extra rest could be vital.
