Well done team GB - a great perfomrance from the whole team.
10 matches out of 11 and 21 sets out of 23 won this week.
YES, was just going to give the same stats. Impressive !
Great though it looks in retrospect, how tense was that yet again as Bally closed it out, just like following the doubles match vs the Netherlands. Can be so much worse watching live scores tick over compared to watching live !
Brilliant - sounds like there was no way anyone was going to stop Bally today - she wasn't even sitting down at the changeovers she was so pumped!
Teams in the World Group II playoffs on 21-22 April
... with their current Fed Cup rankings:
GBR 26 CHN 25 ARG 21 Winners SWE 19 v POL 24 (1-1)
Losers USA 4 v BLR 14 (0-0) Losers JPN 12 v SLO 16 (2-0) Losers SVK 11 v FRA 15 (1-0) Losers SUI 13 v AUS 10 (1-1)
WG II POs are seeded so GB will play one of the 4 highest-ranked teams who end up in the draw (rankings change next week obviously)
Home/away would be decided by lot for all possible GB opponents - Fed Cup alternating rules only apply to WG I/II/POs from 1995 onwards and we haven't played any since then.
