I'm in London the Friday before (the 19th) You can get flights from heathrow to Gothenberg for around £130 return. Double the price from Edinburgh
Elena, Anne and Heather all list Hard as their favourite surface. This court is described as Indoor Hard so that is at least one potential problem we can put aside.
I've been to Gothenburg many times - my father lives there. It's a great city with lots to do, so it's worth staying before or after the tie! Säve - City Airport - looks like a large shed with a runway in the wilderness - not fair perhaps because it's better than it used to be, but facilities are poor - this is the one that Ryan Air goes to. It's closer to the city but the transport links are not great. Landvetter Airport is much better in lots of ways (although it is further away from the city). You can sometimes get reasonable deals with SAS from Heathrow. Trains and buses in Sweden are good, and the people are very friendly. I don't think I can make it, but I hope some of you can!

I believe Gothenburg City airport is about 6 miles from the centre of Gothenburg, and I'm also assuming there must be some sort of shuttle service direct from the airport. One thing I don't understand is that the hotels in Boras are approx. 50% more expensive during the week than at the weekends.
If your going to Gothenburg, the two airports are about the same distance. However, Landvetter airport is on the road between Gothenburg and Boras and there is a direct bus to Boras that takes about 40mins, whereas City airport is on the opposite site of Gothenburg, around twice as far away and needs 2 buses or bus+train. Unfortunately, the Landvetter flights are twice the price of City.
An early chance to strike a blow for GB against Sweden as Bally takes on Arvidsson in the Fed Cup 'Heart' Awards, which "aim to recognise players who have represented their country with distinction, shown exceptional courage on court and demonstrated outstanding commitment to their team."
It's a public vote (which is a bit dodgy since it turns it into a popularity contest) but we'd better make sure Bally wins it (I may be a bit biased, but I'm pretty sure she deserves it!) - you can vote at http://bit.ly/gk6kim

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I'm taking the missus as a pre-wedding getaway. We're up to our neck in table plans and wedding lists and what type of cutlery to chose type nonsense, so will be nice to get out of Glasgow for a change of scenery away from all the planning, and hopefully enjoy some good tennis with a British win at the end of it!
Flying into Gothenburg (very!) early on the Friday, and just going to spend the day wandering around Boras. They have an excellent zoo, but it's shut that day which is a shame. So might just have to find a nice pub and let the missus wander round the shops for the afternoon.
Got a reasonable price for a place on booking.com. I had wondered if the LTA might try to arrange a deal for British Tennis members (not that I am one) to try to get a decent travelling support, but doesn't seem to be the case.
Anyway, felt it was too good a chance to miss out on. If we lose, it could be a while before we get to this stage again - definiately not prepared to wait another 19 years!
