Hey, quick, someone tell Andy, still time to change his plans
Someone on the Beeb site mentioned that both Andy and Tim were playing in Barcelona next week. I thought Andy was playing there, but is Tim playing there too? I just wondered.
it looks as if andy is skipping nottingham - has this been reported b4?
i guess he wants the week off ot get fully energsied for wimby, i wounldn't be suprised if an early queens loss would leave him asking for a wc, which would be an annoynace for another brit to lose out, but i think i remember greg doing the same.

However, I can't see Andy skipping the DC tie for Indianapolis, surely he won't do that. I wonder why he's entered
Re ATP Nottingham: I agree with Count, it would have been better if he'd entered and then if he wanted the extra week's break, he could have always withdrawn.
That would be a complete disaster, however I just can't see Andy letting the GB team down in that way - the DC is a big thing for him.
If he doesn't play, this would be my team would go like this:
Bogdanovic, Lee, Baker, Fleming.
Thinking about it, GB would still have a decent chance of winning with that team. Assuming that Israel take the doubles, Bogdanovic could beat Okun and Levy on grass and I'd be confident of Martin Lee beating one of those two on grass aswell as grass is Lee's best surface.

I am pretty confident of our 'B Team' beating Israel, but its much better to be safe. Bogdanovic will be playing quite some tennis before that - Surbiton, Queens, Nottingham, Wimbledon and hopefully Newport.
What will happen if Bogdanovic is injured? Then we will be in some trouble.
The other case scenario is that Boggo may want to defend his points in Nottingham instead of playing the DC as if he loses those points he'll fall abot 20 places
If Boggo got injured then Jamie Baker or Richard Bloomfield would have to step in . We'd still have a slight chance if Martin lee beat both Levy and Okun.
However, that's the worst case scenario, if Boggo's injury is flaring up again he'd probably take a couple of weeks off instead of playing Dublin and Newport.
I thought the Davis Cup was during Newport not INdianapolis, because isn't the reason Greg is not playing to defend his title there and try and win a record thrid (or is it fourth) at that tournament?
Edit: having checked it out, I'm wrong it is indianapolis during the Davis Cup (why has it been scheduled like that? Don't they normally do it so that no tournaments are missed?)

The DC schedule world group and world group qualifying ties so that they don't clash with ATP events but they don't do that with Euro-African zone ties and the players competing in those are usually challenger level and futures players.
The RCA committee in Indianapolis haven't published a full entry list yet but they've listed the players who've made early commitments to the tournament:
Andy Roddick Andy Murray Fernando Gonzalez Robby Ginepri Taylor Dent Paradorn Srichaphan

proabbly normally, but thisis a relgeation play off tie, which isnt so important in world standings ranks, so the often the countires with top atp players often wont be playing these.
