We have a guaranteed quarter-finalist thanks to another big first-round upset:

R1: (Q) Valeria Osadchenko (SWE) 1108 lost to (WC) Harriet Dart UNR by 3 & 3 biggrin

Harriet plays Manisha in Round 2.

Video interviews with Tara, Fitzy, Alex & Lisa at http://www.youtube.com/user/britishtennislta/featured

Not much new, just discussions of their plans/ranking aims. Both Lisa & Tara heading out to Aus as well, presumably after Sunderland/Fed Cup.

All set ambitious year-end ranking aims; except Fitzy who said that she knows that at the end of a tournament she'll have done everything she can so it's pointless to set a target, which seems a rather sensible attitude.

Thanks for the video links.  As you say not that revealing,  but always good to hear from the girls themselves and we did get a bit of an idea about their itineries.

Liked Tara's answer to "Where would you like to be this time next year ?"  i.e.  "Well I wouldn't like to be here. that's for sure"  smile    She did then say that of course it wasn't to do with the tournament, but she just hoped that she'd have her ranking up a lot higher and be in Australia just now.

Is Botwell still on some stupidly high Brit-bashing streak?

Thats a good win for Harriet tho
