When was the last time that a UK woman made a final at WTA level (singles or doubles)?
That question really has 4 parts and I'm pretty sure I can answer all but the one most relevant to this thread.
Last Brit to win a WTA singles title - Monique Javer (Singapore 1988, beat Leila Mekshi URS 6 & 3)
Last Brit to reach a WTA singles Final - Jo Durie (Newport 1990, lost to Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario ESP 7-6 4-6 7-5)
Last Brits to win a WTA doubles title - Clare Wood & Belinda Borneo (Wellington 1992, beat Jo-Anne Faull AUS & Julie Richardson NZL 0 & 6)
E&OE - I got the last titles won by checking the Brits who have been in the singles top 100 over the last 25 years on ITF (which now lists titles) and I got the last singles Final from memory, so there is a good chance they are accurate if not 100%. Certainly, Anne's first WTA singles SF was described as the first semi reached by a Brit since Jo Durie in Birmingham in 1992, so no Brits can have reached a singles Final since then.
Unfortunately, ITF does not list lost finals and I certainly can't remember any of those but it is possible that Clare and Belinda's win was also the last time any Brits appeared in a WTA Final. If it becomes relevant (let's hope so!), I'll probably risk tweeting it and see if anyone with a longer memory shoots it down - at least then we'll know!

Well done to Hev for a cracking week of dubs, now I wonder whether she will also dash off to Cagnes-sur-Mer straightaway or just hope she makes it into the MD.
Shame to lose but I'm a bit of a fam of the partnership. Sasha Panova is a powerhouse which should compliment Heathers speed and guile. Sasha has won a couple of dubs titles I think so yeah a good if random duo
