Pity for Laura but the last 2 weeks on clay, sort of playing herself in in the 25K and then this week, look pretty encouraging.  Like other folk I just hope that she has no serious problem.

Does at least give hope that with a decent draw ( and she should at least be seeded ) in the French Open qualifying she can get at least these Q1 40 ranking points.

Anne at least racked up a few more games in her doubles match than she did in her singles encounter:

Simon Cambers reports that he's been told re. Laura's retirement yesterday that she "felt some pain in her foot so stopped. Hopefully nothing serious but she'll know more after a scan. Fingers crossed"
