Perhaps Dan just got on a roll - I get the impression he's the better player of the two when he's 'on' - I didn't see any of it though, my connection has been playing up all day.
That is Dan's 6th Futures singles title, his 3rd this year (from 5 finals) and his 4th in the last 52 weeks.

Dan did play well in the second and third sets but Josh's level also dropped considerably. I suppose Josh is always vulnerable to scores like this because his serve is so poor but his fighting spirit normally prevents it from happening. Josh has now lost in his last 6 finals and hasn't won one for just over 2 years (Nottingham in Sept 2010).
Yes, it will mean he finally takes out that career high of 611 just over 7 years after he set it (3 Oct 2005!)
In fact, it turns out that Tom has matched that career high of 611 today, less than 3 months after the first win of his ITF pro circuit comeback but exactly 7 years to the week after he first set it! He will break it by moving into the top 600 on 8 October, obviously.
