That will see him fly into the 500s without even touching the 600s in the rankings, smashing his CH of WR 685 by probably over 100 places.
With Neil and Tom Burn's points this week, I make it that we will now have 19 players on 43 points or more and all almost certainly in the top 600 on Monday week. This must be the most above that level in quite a time.
OK, we are still really struggling at higher levels, but in many ways it's a numbers game and the more you get to one level, I do think the more it is reasonable to have hope will go on to the next level.

Good stuff from Neil - I thought he might be brought down with a bump today by the top seed (and if so, it would still have been an excellent week), but very encouraging so far

I watched Neil play a couple of matches in Nottingham. In his QF defeat against Evo he played quite well but the impression I got (maybe a false one) was that he never believed that he was going to win the match (even when he served for the second set), almost as if he didn't really feel like he had any right beating his betters and was just happy to be there. Furthermore while he has had some decent results this year he hadn't beat any top 300 players and since Tipton (in March) he had only beat one top 400 player. Hopefully this week will give him some real confidence to push on.
