Hmm, Evo taking 4 attempts to break his racquet. I was saying before that he could maybe spend more time in the gym !

Good battling win for JWH against Alex Ward, the win that I declared he wouldn't get !

Wish I had put money on it now. After Edmund I reckon JWH has a chance of being the best of the young guns.

An article about Josh Goodall (including why he didn't go to AO Q, though I think we'd guessed why not)

http://www.thetennisspace.com/life-is-unfair-on-the-tennis-have-nots/

from 1980 to 2011, per tournament, grand slam prize money has increased by 1095 percent. Prize money on the ATP Tour has increased by 216 percent, but at the Challengers and Futures level, tournaments prize money has decreased by 15 percent.

Even if you balance it against a higher number of Futures, that's shocking.

Meanwhile, Dave takes the 2nd set v Rosenholm 1-6 6-3 and the all-GB QF is into a tiebreak.

Dave up an early break in the 3rd - quite a comeback if he manages it (though he'd need to make the Final to limit his time outside the GB top 25 to 1 week) but still a long way to go.

From bet365 tiebreak scoring was interesting.

JWH took first point on serve, then Dan served 2 double faults in a row to leave Josh up *3-0 with a double mini-break. From there, Dan won the next 7 points. JWH also had 4 or 5 break points during the set, but couldn't convert any. Great that he's having a strong tournament, and still plenty of time to pull this one back, but seems that the clutch points are letting him down, having worked good openings. Possibly a mental/tactical thing about how he plays at thse moments of truth....would love to see it live to confirm whether this might be the case.

Bloomers on the skids already:  *0-4 against Harrison.

Things looking better for Ed Corrie:  *4-2 against Olin.
