RE: Week 10 - Great Britain F6 ($10,000) - Shrewsbury (hard)

Marcus is the first Brit to beat Ed this year, ending his 15-match Brit-bashing streak since the start of the year.

The ITF H2H for the Final is 4-2 to Marcus - he beat Dan in a G4 junior Final in Finland in 2006, lost to him in 3 sets in 2008 then retired against him in their only previous meeting in a Futures Final in Glasgow the same year, before beating him twice in 2010 and then in the Glasgow Fut. QFs this year. Their last 4 meetings have all gone to 3 sets.

Btw, Marcus will take out his nearly 3-year-old career high if he wins the Final.

Should be a good final. Both players have a game that is very easy on the eye.. Even playing badly you would expect some exquisite points.

Let's be frank here, inconsistency doesn't begin to do justice to Evo's career. I fear he will spend a lot of time looking back at what could and indeed should of been and can look in a mirror for who is certainly most to blame.

Would be good if he could win the title here, build on that and really commit to consistently giving of his best. I won't be counting those proverbial chickens.

Sometimes easy to forget that Dan is still only 22 so he still has plenty of time to make it. However I do share your fears that in years to come we will be looking back and thinking what a waste. He clearly has the game to be top 200 and a regular on the challenger tour but for whatever reason he has loses far too many matches that he should win.

Evo still has the best game of anybody ranked GB 2-9

Anyone who watched Dan take apart bedene last year at Loughborough would have seen what a talent Dan is.
Only in the next match some bad line calls and a few stupid lapses by the umpire ,i think she was reading fifty shades of grey, cost dan a win.
People on hear saying his form as been poor this year, what a load of crap .
Davis cup coming up .

Thank gawd for the BRITISH TENNIS PRETENTIOUSNESS POLICE for saving me from any more of that.

Sounds a wonderful excuse for not taking responsibility for one's actions and conduct, from a child not doing their homework to many serious crimes. Sorry guv, but it's just in my genes.

Of course we are all made up very differently, but you are just being pretty absurd, possibly just for the sake of it.

Let noone who is generally thought of as not to have put in sufficient effort in their field be ever again criticised, reprimanded, dropped or fired LOL

Thought you were better than this. Bad day ?

Hoss, why do you think Evo hasn't performed more consistently to that high standard ? Indeed why has he been so often so far below it ?

Why do you think he is not much higher ranked ?

I don't see anyone questioning his talent, save possibly Ratty based on however he is defining "talent".

I sort of agree, but his results don't reflect that and at the end the day results are what count.

PS: Getting to the final here entitles him to a SE for Bath. Anyone know if he will take it?

Would appear not, he's top seed in QD and on the schedule for tomorrow not before half 6.  Looks like it will be a long day for him!

Hoss, most other Brits have performed much more consistently than Evo, consistently to their general lower ability levels.

I ask you again as to why you think Evo ( who I agee with you does have real ability ) is not higher ranked ?

Of course top 300 isn't bad.

Evo though I certianly think could and should of got himself at least into the top 200.

I can't edit on my phone. But can I apologise to everyone for the abomination of "should of".

That, of course, should HAVE been "should have" or "should've".
