RE: Week 10 - Great Britain F6 ($10,000) - Shrewsbury (hard)

Hurry up Josh, Jamie Baker's on court soon - seem to be an awful lot of Brits still competing on a Friday

With luck it won't provoke a 30-year war this time, but Josh finally completes the deFinnistration of Shrewsbury  (igmc)

QF: (1) Josh Goodall WR 252 beat (5) Timo Nieminen (FIN) WR 394 (CH 254 in 2003) by 6-3 7-6(2)
QF: (3/Q) Dan Evans WR 367 beat (Q) Juho Paukku (FIN) WR 1180 (CH 379 in 2011) by 4-6 6-2 7-5
QF: (4) Ed Corrie WR 385 beat (Q) Neal Skupski WR 1571 by 4 & 3
QF: Marcus Willis WR 638 beat (Q) George Coupland WR 1159 by 4-6 6-4 6-3

SF: (1) Josh Goodall WR 252 v (3/Q) Dan Evans WR 367

H2H 6-3 (4-3 after 2009), Josh winning their one Futures meeting last year. This is Josh's third SF of the year (1-1) and Evo's first since he won Nottingham last September.

SF: (4) Ed Corrie WR 385 v Marcus Willis WR 638

H2H 1-0, Ilkley 2012, when Ed won 4-6 6-2 6-2. This is Ed's 5th semi-final in a row ... can he make it his 5th Final in a row too? It is Marcus's 3rd SF of the year and, like Josh, he has won one and lost one.

Good timing - expecting a Josh v Ed final, but hoping Dan wins the tournament

2 very good matches for the semi-finals! Both could go either way

erm, that was one of the Semi-Finals ...

evileye

Whoops!  Guilty of presumption, M'Lud... ashamed  In mitigation, I would plead that it is a little unusual for the singles final of a UK Futures event not to take place on a Saturday.  I simply forgot!   Anyway, that's my excuse & I'm stickin' to it! wink

Evo still has the best game of anybody ranked GB 2-9

I sort of agree, but his results don't reflect that and at the end the day results are what count.

PS: Getting to the final here entitles him to a SE for Bath. Anyone know if he will take it?

Sean and David win 6-2 6-1

Very dominent start to the year. This year they have won 4 out of 5 tournaments and 15 of 16 matches played together.
