That would make some sense, in that he seemed to be on the money on serve, then all of a sudden he dropped to a disasterously low first serve percentage, plus a very low second serve win ratio. Perhaps a wrist, elbow or shoulder problem which he tried to shake off.

However, the there was a recovery towards the end of his singles match (when the match was all but lost) and then he also played doubles, losing 0&1 (which is quite a scoreline in men's doubles). Can't see why he would play the doubles match if injured, let alone complete it.

He seemed to be playing well last week, and did well first round this week. Odd.
