Interesting to see Goodall down to stay for this last Greece future which is on clay a week before the first Nottingham challenger... however, saying that, looking at the priority numbers on the player list, the field could end up very weak!!

From a cost and possibly a ranking points perspective, there's some sense (if he does well - a win or final at least). But this is a very short term focus.

From a tennis perspective, given his clearly stated objectives for the year (play CHs, get ranking to 150, change game style), to choose to stay and play his first (and presumably last) clay tournament of the year, a $10k Futures again, then go straight into Nottingham CH with no grass practice seems an odd decision! Meanwhile I'd imagine Ed (hope he's feeling better) is probably going into Nottingham off the back of 3 weeks solid training on grass - I know who I'd be putting my money on.

There is a British Tour event on grass this week at Felixstowe. I would imagine that it will have a very strong field.

Is it correct that Portugal wk 21 is on clay and then Portugal wk 22 is on hardcourts as Dan and Neil are down for both?

 They are both on hard.

That would make more sense.

Any reason why Delgado/Schwank are on the alts list twice, also #19??

Presumably just a typo rather some sort of Protected Ranking situation?

I just copied the list from elsewhere but it is probably is a protected ranking issue. Based on their current rankings they would have a combined rank of 277 but Schwank has missed most of the last year and so has a protected ranking, presumably of 73, giving them a combined rank of 150. I still don't get why they appear twice but I have seen this happen before.

They appear twice because if they get in on their current ranking they won't have used up Schwank's protected ranking allowance (it's the same with Erlich/Ram amd Levinsky/Lu)

Heather has signed up for doubles with Iryna Buryachok, so I assume she is fit.

Also Laura with Raymond.

I'm glad Laura has such a great dubs partner, I only hope that the GS will inspire her in her dubs as much as it does in her singles as since the initial run with lisa, they haven't done that well together.

Glad Hev's back too, hope she's totally fit again

Just worked out Andy's cunning plan for RG........confuse

Lose a few clay court matches, take an injury - which makes sure he does not get to the No. 2 ranking.

Now Rafa will be no. 4 means he won't face Rafa until the final!!!!!!!!!!!

(The only problem is he might have overdone the injury bit)

Not sure where to post this, so please move if there is a more suitable thread.

What's happened to Oli Golding. I see he's played 22 tournies in the last year, and I would have expected him to have gone up the rankings significantly as he seemed to be doing around US open time last year, but he's lower than he was at the start of last year.
